About us
The northernmost and lowest-lying ferry in the Czech Republic. We connect Dolní Žleb with the right bank of the Elbe on the road between Hřensko and Děčín. We transport pedestrians, cyclists and cars – quickly, safely, and with a view that never gets old.
Operation and services
Operating hours: depend on the season and time of day (see current times below).
What we transport: pedestrians, bikes, prams, motorcycles and passenger cars.
Payment: cash; contactless payments.
Safety: the ferryman’s instructions are binding; when boarding/leaving, always follow the crew’s instructions.

West landing stage: a few steps from the Dolní Žleb railway stop.
East landing stage: by the Hřensko–Děčín main road.
How the ferry works
This is a reaction (non-motorized) ferry – it uses the current of the Elbe and is guided by a steel cable. A quiet, eco-friendly and reliable solution with a long tradition on the Elbe.

A short history
1867 - a ferry was established in Dolní Žleb (Emanuel Hietel). Since then it has served locals and visitors to the Elbe Canyon.
The ferry is among the last in the country to use a system with a lower guide (cable). We maintain the tradition in a modern and safe form.

Travel tips
Take the train and get off at Dolní Žleb – it’s only a few minutes’ walk to the landing stage. On the right bank you can join the Hřensko–Děčín road and hiking/cycling routes on both sides of the Elbe.
